ASIA PACIFIC DEAF
The Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation (APDSC) was founded on 27th March 1988 in Melbourne, Australia.
The APDSC is one of the regional confederations recognised by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) with specific responsibilities for the Asia and the Pacific. Region.
The APDSC is an international non-governmental, non-for-profit Asia Pacific Sports Organisation recognised by the ICSD for an unlimited duration.
The APDSC shall consist of National Deaf Sports Associations in the region of Asia Pacific, which are affiliated to and recognised by ICSD. Only one Association in each Asia Pacific country shall be accepted by the APDSC, unless otherwise directed by the ICSD.
The APDSC shall include all the countries of Asia Pacific, with its geographical boundaries being determined by ICSD. The six sub regions are East Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, West Asia and the Pacific.
To support the aims and objectives of the ICSD.
To promote sports for Deaf athletes within Asia Pacific Region, without discrimination due to political, religious, economic, racial, gender, disability or sexual orientation reasons.
To promote the organisation and development of Deaf Sports in Asia Pacific countries.
To award, monitor, and coordinate the Asia Pacific Dames and APDSC Championships.
To cooperate, collaborate with the ICSD of any other agency to ensure the fulfilment of the above objectives.
To ensure audited accounts and all reports, including expenditure accounts, for the previous year to be submitted to the Registry of Societies of Malaysia together with other reports.
To organise any welfare works or any business in order to increase the fund of the APDSC, and according to the laws of the country where it is registered.
To establish business organisation and shall be allowed to own properties on the condition that all profits shall be directed to its fund.
To liaise, in pursuance of these aims, objectives, and principles, with Asia Pacific organisations and institutions.
To do all things necessary of convenient to achieve or further any of these objectives
To promote awareness through Deaf Sports education that nurtures talented athletes and provide opportunities to realise their full potential in order to compete internationally at the highest level.
